Prologue

Ramblings, Ravings, Musings and Mutterings of a charlatan....

Regarding

The Charlatan. A Writer. A Clown. Sometimes a Barnstormer. Vaudevillian. Pirate. I'm a idealistic cynic, silent writer, trapped traveller... God help me, I'm complusively paradoxical.

Last week of school. Three more days till holiday time. Huzzah. Yet, somehow, we've got more work due now than ever before, but lack the energy to do any of it. I notice that we burn out fast now. Im stoned by week 8. i need a week of peace to finish up my work and catch up on my sleep.

You know, there's nothing quite so sad in the world of essay writing as a staring at a title on top of a blank page for 20 minutes straight. That's whats happening to me now. Im staring blankly at my group 4 reflection which has 200 more words to go. Im staring blankly at my IOP essay, which i dont even have a proper title for anyway. And just as im typing this, i remember that i still have to draw some bonus diagrams into my maths investigation, which i seem to have misplaced.

Why cant we stop lying?

EE!

As in, EEEE!!, the sound made when a kettle starts to boil. As in the scream of some irritating bad actress in a B movie. As in the name of our mini-thesis, of which the first draft in due next term. Which many of us, well... some of us... havent really started on yet. Its getting... worrying.

Personally, i dont really have an idea of what to do. Originally, i planned to do something in the general vicinity of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Then i remembered that i dont know shit about the israeli-palestinian conflict... Which is ok, since thats what the essay is for, but still.
Now, im not even sure whether i should do that. Plan B is Cambodia and Pol Pot, and Plan C is Celyon. Woot. Plan E is switching to English and doing either Dylan or Watchmen. Or both of them together in a Cold War extravaganza.

*plot twist*

Funny shit right here.

I dont know what i'd do without webcomics.

*plot twist*

I am noticing a trend.

I wish i could write deep shit. The thought provoking stuff. Then i get bored and surf the net.

Link.

*plot twist*

A good story is one that makes you ask questions. Theres a problem is society that everyone wants to talk about, but no one can find the right words for. But we keep going back to it. The question we need to ask is why. Everything i will do will be irrelevent until i can write something that can ask that question.

Have'nt done much work yet, as usual. I was hoping to at least finish my econs by today, but... oh well... There's always tommorow. Hurray for procrastination.

*plot twist*

Interesting little film.

*plot twist*

Robot Chicken is hilarious. Well... maybe not hilarious, but definitely worth watching. . Seth Green does a hell of a lot better in his 'cartoons' (Family Guy, Robot Chicken) , methinks.

*plot twist*

Aaah! RPol is down! Nooo!

*plot twist*

Couple of noights back i had a pretty interesting dream experience. For some obscure reason, i found myself eating something which i presume was a hallocinogen of some kind, because it caused me to go into some sort of high. Anywho, the majority of the dream revovled around me stumbling around 'high'. Eventually i just fell over and watched the sky.

Let me tell you something. When you dream, always, always, always remember to look at the sky. Its amazing.

*plot twist*

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I havent had time recently to go to Border or the Library, and im hungry for some reading material. The net can only do so much, but i miss the feeling of a good book in my hands. So, in desperation, im turning to some of my old ISO reading material on Postmodernism... and im actually finding it a whole lot more interesting than i once did. If anyone has knows any good book/site on it, drop me a line... or whatever it is you do to a tagboard...

Funny things happen all the time. I didn’t know ol’ Dubya had it in him.

I realize something about this school year. For the first time in a long time, it no longer seems as if I’m over-committed. For the first time in years, the work seems manageable again. Everything seems to fall neatly into place now. However, I still can’t keep up, mainly because I’m a slacker of the highest order. I don’t do work, and yet I still feel tired. It’s getting ridiculous. Everyday, I wake up telling myself that I’m going to finish a shit-load of work by nightfall. In the end, I just end up wandering the oddly beautiful ever-changing wastelands of the net. And playing DotA.

Recent events have really inspired me to start writing frequently again. I haven’t really written anything in months. And there are so many ideas now. Cambodia really inspired me. The sights, the people and the history. Plus, I just finished Warren Ellis’s Transmetropolitan. Amazing comic.
Writing comics seems like great fun. You don’t need to bother with superfluous words and paragraph long descriptions. The readers don’t mind most of the time. Hell, you barely need to describe anything… Just leave it to the artist.

I dislike the fact that I have to watch what I say online. But I do it anyway because… well you know why.

Something disturbed me some days ago. What really freaked me out was that it happened thrice. I mentioned the large number of reports of violent activities and terrorist threats bubbling around on news channels and three times, three times, people just stared at me and told me that it was business as usual. Which, of course it is. But still! The gravity of this never really struck me until that day. We live in a world on the brink of disaster. And yet, we’re not worried. That’s pretty scary when you think about it. Surely, these are the end times.
