Prologue

Ramblings, Ravings, Musings and Mutterings of a charlatan....

Regarding

The Charlatan. A Writer. A Clown. Sometimes a Barnstormer. Vaudevillian. Pirate. I'm a idealistic cynic, silent writer, trapped traveller... God help me, I'm complusively paradoxical.

School started today. I dont know what to say really. Today, the first day of orientation, was ... was,well... It was horrific. I dont mean to say that the Orientation Commitee did a bad job. Quite the contrary, they did a very very good job, in the face of certain doom. I mean, they tried but, you cant expect people to be happy and excited after 6 straight hours of talks. Talks that most of us have heard since sec 2. I mean, I GET IT, IB IS A GOOD COURSE! And i GET IT, ACS IS A GREAT SCHOOL! Now can you please shut the (expletive ) up! I mean, come on! We've heard this stuff too (expletive) often. Maybe you can say that its for the new students... But why the(expletive) are we there then?! Couldnt you have held all those introductory talks during the holidays or somethings?
I got a distinct image of it all today. Its like... you go buy a new car. Its an expensive car and you have a lot invested in it. So you want to drive it. But, after the salesman has closed the deal, he wont stop talking about the car. He just refuses to stop telling you how (expletive) good it is. Then, he starts dancing. He dances around the car with the keys in his hands. You ask him to stop, but he pays you no attention. He also starts singing. And he continues dancing and singing and jumping out of your way late into the night.

But anyway... If it wasnt for the wasted time, the orientation was really good. I mean, the people organizing it have no tradition or anything to call up on. Also, the ratio , 3: 1 is terrible for breaking the ice. People dont get to interact. I mean, they dont need to interact. But the OC somehow managed to make it work. I just hope they can keep it up. Esspecially with all the mindless talks we have tommorow.....

But i suppose its too late to worry now, isnt it? Oh well, i might as well be happy with what i got.

A shoe bag!
